We partner with our clients to design, implement, evaluate and communicate innovative and cost-effective benefit programs customized to their unique needs. Responsibilities: We are seeking an Actuarial Analyst with strong technical and communication skills, and the ability to establish good working relationships with plan professionals. This role supports the company's objectives by providing technical support to our team of Pension consultants and analysts located in multiple offices. Responsibilities will include preparing actuarial valuations, including data preparation, calculation of assets and liabilities, gain/loss analysis and preparation of final reports. Additional responsibilities include preparing projections of assets and liabilities, government forms and notices, and benefit calculations. The role also involves drafting and/or reviewing participant notices, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan Documents and amendments, as well as assisting with special projects as needed. As a key member of the Pension Practice, the Actuarial Analyst will communicate both in writing and verbally with plan professionals including Administrators, Auditors, Investment Consultants and Counsel, as well as within and across assigned client teams. Collaborate with other analysts to develop/improve data and project management capabilities. Location: This position will be based in one of our offices (San Diego, San Mateo or Seattle), with flexibility to also work from home (hybrid). Hybrid arrangements must be approved and are subject to change; currently we are working a few days per month in-office. Total Comp and Benefits: In addition to competitive base pay, this position is eligible for our annual bonus program. Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with strong personal management and organization skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attentive to detail
  • Work well in a team environment, yet able to work independently and effectively multi-task to meet deadlines
  • Substantial knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business or similar with at least 2 actuarial exams passed and actively pursuing an actuarial designation

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of actuarial pension experience is preferred, but not required
  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
  • ProVal experience is preferred
