About The Position

Centurion is the provider of mental health and dental services to the Georgia Department of Corrections. The company is seeking a full-time Activity Technician/Therapist to join their team at the Johnson State Prison in Wrightsville, Georgia. This role operates under the direction of professional mental health staff and involves using recreational, social, and vocational activities to achieve treatment objectives, foster skill-building, and support psychological stabilization for patients within a correctional setting.

Requirements

• Must have an active Basic Life Support certification
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
• High School Diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years of experience in Therapeutic Recreation or related field providing activities programming for persons who have a serious mental illness preferred
• Training, experience or certification as an aide, medical technician, EMT, or activities technician preferred
• Experience working in a correctional mental health setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Use recreational/social/vocational activities to accomplish treatment objectives, foster skill building and problem solving in support of psychological stabilization for patients in a correctional setting
