About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ACNP/PA to join our Interventional/General Cardiology team. This hybrid role offers a unique balance of clinical and administrative responsibilities. Clinically, the provider will care for patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures, performing pre- and post- procedure assessments, managing acute and chronic cardiac conditions and collaborating closely with our cardiology team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Administratively, the candidate will serve as a liaison between the interventional cardiology team and the quality improvement department, working collaboratively to analyze workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement. This full time, Monday-Friday day shift position is ideally suited for a candidate who enjoys a balance of hands-on clinical care and meaningful administrative involvement. We are seeking an ACNP/PA to join our Interventional/General Cardiology team. Clinically, the provider will manage patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures including pre- and post- procedure assessments, coordination of care and collaboration with the cardiology team to ensure high-quality outcomes. The role also includes patient education and participation in daily rounds. On the administrative side, the provider with act as a liaison between the interventional cardiology team and the quality improvement department. Responsibilities include analyzing workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, contributing to the development of quality initiatives and assisting with data review. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a cardiology, CVICU or CCU setting. Candidates should be tech-savvy, with the ability to navigate EHRs, data systems and communication platforms with ease.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Masters degree Physician Assistant program OR Masters degree in Nursing with successful completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in general cardiology, CVICU or CCU
  • ACNP
  • Licensed as an Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee
  • National certification in a specialty (such as ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP)
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward
  • Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update policies, procedures, and algorithms in keeping with current evidence- based practice
  • Serve as both a resource and role model/mentor to RN staff, surgical heart team and all peers
  • Keep current with all required Continuing Education
  • Provide patient/family teaching to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction
  • Perform detailed History and Physical, consults, post balloon removal procedure dictations and discharge summaries
  • Order, interpret, and provide treatment as necessary: CXR, EKG, Laboratory studies, and other diagnostic radiologic studies
  • Provide staff education
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Provide physician referrals as needed
  • Recognize and treat acute changes in patient status
  • Collaborate with physician sponsor and ancillary departments as needed
  • Round on patients daily
