Acme Facility Support Floater
About The Position
The Facility Support Floater is a hands-on, mobile role responsible for keeping Acme Athletics clean, organized, and running smoothly during evening and weekend hours. This is not a front desk position—this person is out on the floor at all times: wiping down equipment, setting up and breaking down volleyball poles, restocking supplies, assisting with nightly closing duties, and jumping in wherever help is needed. When the front desk needs backup, this role steps in—but the primary mission is keeping the facility in top shape and being a visible, helpful presence for members.
Requirements
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently without constant direction
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet for the duration of a shift
- Strong attention to detail—you notice when something is out of place and fix it without being asked
- Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever help is needed
- Must be at least 16 years of age
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a gym, recreation center, or facility maintenance is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Maintain a continuous presence on the facility floor—walking, cleaning, and proactively identifying areas that need attention
- Set up and take down volleyball poles, nets, and other equipment as needed throughout each shift
- Perform ongoing cleaning of gym equipment, floors, restrooms, and common areas
- Restock supplies including towels, cleaning products, paper goods, and retail/cooler inventory
- Assist with full closing procedures each night, including equipment shutdown, trash removal, and final walk-through
- Provide backup support at the front desk during busy periods or staff breaks
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or equipment problems to management immediately
- Assist members with general questions and direct them to the appropriate staff or area
