About The Position

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Receivables Cash Analyst in our Kansas City, Missouri location. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the timely and precise entry of cash receipts, reconcile payment discrepancies and maintain detailed records to support financial accuracy. This position plays a key role in managing company-wide receivables involving $531 Million annually. For successful execution, the position requires the candidate to possess knowledge of cash management, billing, collections, reconciliation, commissions, and account payables functions. This position also requires daily interaction with agents, brokers, vendors, internal departments, and outside banking personnel. This role works a hybrid schedule from an IAT Office. The hybrid schedule requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of financial or accounts receivable experience, including experience in the insurance and banking industries or a bachelor’s in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or related degree
  • Working knowledge of accounting practices and accepted office procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication and comprehension skills
  • Ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and perform mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instruction
  • Strong analytical & Excel skills
  • Must be comfortable with change
  • Must be able to work within a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve deposit information from bank and posts payments per remittance detail
  • Process payments via credit card, checks, wires, and ACHs
  • Reconcile incoming payments with billed amounts and advise account representatives of discrepancies
  • Enters check requests for refunds into accounts payable system
  • Manage daily remote deposit transactions to the bank
  • Verifies daily lockbox payment applications and works with internal and external contacts to make corrections as necessary
  • Works with internal contacts to ensure billing is processed for all unapplied payments
  • Handles returned payments and provides timely updates to both internal and external partners regarding the status of these items
  • Assists with maintaining and preparing reports for ledger accounts, analyzes variances according to AR policies
  • Analyze cash flow patterns, identify trends, and implement solutions to improve cash management, automation, and financial controls
  • Performs other ad-hoc duties as assigned
