About The Position

DSG is seeking an Accounts Receivable Associate in our Fargo, ND branch. In this full-time, hourly position, work is typically performed during standard business hours, 7:00am to 5:00pm CST, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. The Accounts Receivable Associate will perform a variety of accounts receivable duties, including the coordination of collection efforts, and will assist the Credit Manager with appropriate credit risk level for all customers. Requirements

  • Previous data entry experience (required).
  • Prior experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable and/or Accounting.
  • Experience with various accounting systems and software, such as Eclipse, BillTrust and Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to produce accurate work product while handling multiple tasks.
  • The skills necessary to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • An innate ability to stay organized, manage time, and consistently meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree or higher in Finance or Accounting (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the credit applications process
  • Post customer payments by recording cash, check, and credit transactions
  • Update customer accounts
  • Post revenues by verifying and entering transactions from lock box and local deposits
  • Update receivables by totaling unpaid invoices
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Monitor customer accounts
  • Validate tax exemption certificates and customer tax status
  • Resolve disputes on customer accounts
  • Update computer system with latest information on customer accounts
  • Notify customers of NSF checks and collect payments
  • Assist customers with solving credit problems
  • Stay current on laws and regulations pertaining to collections, bankruptcy, bonds, liens and judgments
  • Maintain appropriate documents, documentation and other information in the customer credit file
  • Support the credit management team and their requests
  • Perform other ad hoc accounting and finance duties as assigned
