Colorado Springs Utilities is excited to hire an Accounts Payable Technician to join our Accounting Department within the Planning and Finance Division. In this position, you will be responsible for performing accounts payable functions related to the operations of Colorado Springs Utilities. Requirements

  • You have four to seven years of experience providing technical clerical support in Accounts Payable or a related accounting function (preferred)
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can adapt to shifting priorities with ease
  • You demonstrate strong attention to detail and consistently follow through on responsibilities
  • You take initiative and ownership of projects, tasks, and process outcomes
  • You contribute to improving departmental processes and procedures, offering ideas and implementing enhancements
  • You bring excellent organization, time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • You deliver exceptional customer service, building positive and professional relationships with internal and external partners
  • The successful candidate will have a strong comprehension of accounting and accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities

  • Producing high-quality, detailed, accurate, and timely work results
  • Applying relevant policies, procedures, and best practices consistently
  • Recording, processing, and analyzing accounts payable transactions
  • Monitoring, reconciling, and tracking records
  • Reconciling vendor statements and resolving outstanding items
  • Identifying and addressing invoice discrepancies, errors, and variances
  • Processing invoices in various financial and work management systems with accuracy
  • Anticipating customer needs and producing quality, accurate, prompt, and reliable results delivered clearly and concisely
