American Baptist Homes of the Midwest is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to support our Finance and Accounting team. Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience preferred
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Sage Intacct
- Experience with electronic accounts payable systems
Responsibilities
- Process invoices and ensure proper documentation and approvals
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and general ledger coding
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Process weekly check runs and support month-end close procedures
- Maintain organized and compliant financial documentation
- Assist with credit card processing and expense tracking
- Support fixed asset tracking and reporting
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency
