About The Position

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in vendor management and payment processing while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, mission-driven company. The Accounts Payable Associate will support daily invoice processing, vendor communications, and compliance activities, while contributing to continuous improvements in overall accounts payable operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, desired
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies.
  • Support vendor payment cycles, including preparing payment runs, reconciling outstanding payables, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Communicate with vendors to address inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Facilitate the expense reimbursement process by reviewing employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in administering the corporate credit card program, including monitoring usage, coding expenses, and collecting information for monthly reconciliation.
  • Contribute to month end close activities by preparing accounts payable schedules and reconciling related accounts.
  • Prepare documentation to support annual audits and other compliance reviews.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and duties as assigned by leadership to enhance accounts payable processes and efficiency.
