About The Position

We are seeking an Accounts Payable and Payroll Manager to oversee accounts payable and payroll processing operations across all MVH locations. This hybrid role serves as a key liaison between Finance, Human Resources, and site leadership while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting/payroll experience required
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, payroll processing, and benefits administration
  • Experience with payroll taxes, compliance, and reporting
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities

  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing and reconciliation for all locations
  • Supervise accounts payable functions, including vendor management and invoice workflows
  • Ensure compliance with payroll taxes, wage laws, and reporting requirements
  • Manage payroll, AP, and time & attendance systems, including system updates and data integrity
  • Oversee Maine Public Employees Retirement reporting, benefit payments, and payroll-related GL entries
  • Perform payroll audits, account reconciliations, and support month-end close
  • Serve as a resource to HR and Business Office Managers on payroll and benefits
  • Supervise Accounting Assistants and support team development
  • Assist with audits, 941s, year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s), and workers’ compensation audits
