About The Position

The Accounts Payable Analyst is a mid-level financial position responsible for managing and analyzing accounts payable transactions. This role is designed to build on the foundational tasks of a Bookkeeper while incorporating additional analytical and reconciliation functions that support the strategic fiscal oversight of the Accounts Officer. The Analyst will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance in processing payments, reconciling vendor accounts, and generating supporting reports, thereby contributing to the overall fiscal health of the district.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered as an alternative.
  • At least two to three years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a related financial role with demonstrable analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications; advanced data entry and system processing skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail in reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments in a fast-paced public school environment.
  • Understanding of public school financial procedures, accounting principles, and applicable state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with office administrative practices and confidential data handling.
  • Provide proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
  • Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education, or, during the initial six month period provide a sworn statement that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly persons offense in accordance with 18A:6-7.1.
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
  • Pass the State required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
  • Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
