The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. The Central Billing Office (CBO) in the DHHS Office of the Controller (OoC), Accounts Receivable Section is responsible for Accounts Receivable, billing, and collections of over $475 million annually for the twelve Division of State Owned and Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). The primary focus of the Accounting Technician III is to maintain and meet Federal and State Reporting Requirements for twelve State Owned and Operated Healthcare Facilities. This position is needed to support the budgeted expenditures (salaries and fringes) for the critical care positions at the twelve DSOHF institutions. This is a professional position requiring technical, analytical, and evaluative expertise.
