Our Accounting Supervisors is responsible for critical direction and oversight of Accounting function, including monthly financial statement preparation, general ledger integrity, and the compilation and analysis of financial data. This role ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) regulations, and internal policies. This position serves as a supervisor to the accounting team with support from the Financial Operations Manager while maintaining the integrity of financial reporting. Lead the preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP, NCUA, and internal policies. Oversee balance sheet integrity, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts and analysis of accounting and month-end data to ensure accuracy of financial data. Compile and analyze financial data for use in accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial reporting functions. Ensure day-to-day compliance with credit union policies and procedures. Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to staff accountants; review work for accuracy and completeness and assist with professional development. Assign tasks and monitor workload to ensure the team meets deadlines and service standards. Establish, modify, and document accounting procedures and coordinate their implementation. Assist with department and organizational projects as assigned by Management. Establish and maintain depreciation schedules for fixed and prepaid assets in accordance with policy. Engage with vendors and regulatory examiners to support accurate and organized audits of accounting records and financial data. Monitor errors and develop strong internal controls to prevent malfeasance or fraud. Direct staff in the preparation and timely submission of regulatory reports, including: • NCUA Call Report (Form 5300) • Federal Reserve FR2900 Report • Quarterly Collateral Determination (QCD) for the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) Research and resolve technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
