About The Position

The Accounting Supervisor will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions for our network of distribution centers across the US. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of multi-location financial records and supervising a team to ensure timely and compliant reporting. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and a proven track record in a distribution or logistics environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent communication skills for liaising with both finance and operations teams, and exceptional analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in a multi-site distribution, logistics, or warehousing setting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for all distribution centers.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, balance sheets, and profit-and-loss statements.
  • Plan and schedule monthly review with regional management prior to month end close.
  • Assist in monthly presentation of financial results and facilitate the review meeting with management.
  • Manage inter-company sales, transactions, and charges between distribution centers.
  • Work closely with distribution and logistics management to analyze operational costs and variances.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of staff accountants and accounting clerks.
  • Coordinate staff activities to ensure all accounting deliverables for multiple sites are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (US GAAP) and internal company policies across all locations.
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy, particularly related to the distribution center environment.
  • Prepare special reports and analyses as requested by senior management.
