About The Position

The Accounting Specialist supports the Accounting Department by conducting conflict searches, setting up new clients and assisting with day-to-day operations including A/R, A/P and billing.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a group setting in close proximity to peers.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills when interacting with staff, clients and within the department.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Must have ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Process conflict searches and setup new client/matters in the accounting system.
• Save new client/matters into our document management system.
• Coding and online deposit of checks.
• Credit card processing.
• Respond to staff or client inquiries timely and accurately.
• Invoice and maintain staff and member personal expenses.
• Prepare and email monthly reports to attorneys/staff
• Contact client if past due accounts.
• Cross train in each accounting function for backup support.
