About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support financial operations, reporting, and internal controls within a growing organization. This role partners closely with accounting, finance, and operational teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial insights. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, understands financial reporting, and is ready to take on increasing ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7-10 years of accounting or finance experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• High level of accuracy and accountability
• Clear communication with both finance and non-finance teams
• Continuous improvement mindset

Nice To Haves

• Progress toward CPA or CPA eligible
• Experience in manufacturing, government contracting, or project-based environments
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Experience supporting audits and internal controls

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports for internal leadership
• Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure proper classification of transactions
• Oversee and support AP/AR processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Review account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with cash management, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support implementation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial procedures
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Analyze financial results and provide insights on variances and trends
• Partner with departments to monitor spending and improve financial performance
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and reporting processes
• Support system improvements and automation initiatives
• Help establish scalable financial practices as the organization grows
