Role Overview: The Accounting Specialist supports day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and timely processing of transactions. This role assists with reconciliations and month-end close, while adhering to established accounting standards and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 2-5 years of general accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate and professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Industry experience in insurance or financial services.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Support financial reporting and audit requests.
  • Process routine accounting transactions, including cash, accruals, and expenses.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support internal controls.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
  • Complete various accounting projects as directed by management.
  • Regular and timely attendance in the office is an essential function of the position.
