Accounting Specialist
About The Position
Position Summary: The Accounting Specialist / Staff Accountant at Gastamo Group plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our multi-unit restaurant portfolio. This position is responsible for executing core accounting functions including accounts payable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, payroll support, sales tax assistance, and financial reporting support. The role works closely with the Controller and VP of Finance to ensure accurate, timely, and well-organized financial records across all concepts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment. They bring a strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and accountability to their work, and understand how accurate financial processes support restaurant operations and informed decision-making.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance operations.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience supporting month-end close processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other productivity tools.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
