About The Position

The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the full spectrum of multi-entity accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial data through meticulous bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and balance sheet preparation. The Accounting Manager will lead the accounting team in executing job costing and cost accounting processes to support budgeting and financial analysis. They will also be responsible for implementing and optimizing accounting systems to streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy. Ultimately, this position ensures that all accounting activities align with established accounting principles and contribute to the company’s financial health and strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and full cycle accounting processes.
  • Proficiency in bank reconciliation, general ledger management, and balance sheet preparation.
  • Experience with job costing and cost accounting methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
  • Experience with advanced accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance in the United States.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and balance sheets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee job costing and cost accounting processes to provide detailed financial insights for project management and budgeting.
  • Implement and maintain accounting systems and internal controls to improve efficiency and safeguard company assets.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and financial reviews.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Process invoices, prepare and distribute customer bills and statements
  • Assist with intercompany account reconciliations and intercompany billing
  • Assist in preparation of annual audit materials
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
