Hartzell seeks an Accounting Manager who will be responsible to collaborate with the Controller and support the Finance team to monitor financial results, perform financial reporting, general and cost accounting, budgeting and other key projects to drive business results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3- 5 years of progressive financial experience with exposure to manufacturing.
  • Financial and Operations analysis skills & financial modeling – ability to frame questions, gather and organize data, and challenge outputs to arrive at business intelligence (turn data into information) in a fast-paced environment
  • Budgeting and Financial Management – ability to create a budget and analyze the results
  • General Accounting skills and working knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient Computer Skills – MS Office
  • Advanced Excel Functions
  • Pivot Tables, Formulas, Macros, etc.
  • ERP or similar business systems exposure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to synthesize financial issues for communication to a non-financial audience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of timely, accurate, and well supported GAAP financial statements.
  • Regularly analyze financial results for budget variances and support the development and implementation of cost cutting initiatives.
  • Coordinate required info for the external audit and serve as one of the primary internal contacts during the audit fieldwork.
  • Support the month and year-end close process
  • Monitor trends and develop assumptions on operational and financial data
  • Manage customer credit terms and monitor credit risk exposure
