About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for a rapidly growing manufacturer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and optimizing accounting systems. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge in cost accounting, financial accounting, system implementation, and financial leadership within a manufacturing environment.

  • At least five years of progressive finance experience within a manufacturing setting
  • Expertise in cost accounting, inventory control, and production financial analysis

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory accounting.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant standards.
  • Ensure adherence to tax regulations, audit requirements, and internal control policies.
  • Develop and maintain accurate costing models, inventory valuations, and variance analyses.
  • Support a high-mix, precision manufacturing environment with job-level costing and margin analysis, as appropriate.
  • Partner with operations teams to evaluate production costs, material usage, and efficiency metrics.
  • Provide financial analyses that support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Lead or support accounting system enhancements, data cleanup, and process standardization in a growing manufacturing operation.
  • Prepare all union reporting.
  • Maintain and report enrollment in group insurance programs.
  • Prepare and present financial insights to ownership and leadership to support operational and strategic decisions.
