About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for various activities involving the fiscal operations of PHMC and its subsidiaries. This position will assist the Controller in the preparation and coordination of formal budget and forecasting programs. This individual will also work with the Controller in the planning of the annual audit and all schedules required for completion. This position will work directly with other staff members in areas of billing, cash management, and other necessary projects in the Finance department.

Requirements

  • Technical and professional accounting skills
  • Ability to develop financial and other operational systems
  • Proficiency in accounting applications, preferably in Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management, both internal and external
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required

Responsibilities

  • Review purchase request forms and monitor for coding accuracy and budget allocation.
  • Prepare and review invoices for fee-for-service and cost reimbursement billing.
  • Prepare journal entries for cash receipts, prepaids, accrued expenses, depreciation, and adjusting entries.
  • Prepare cost reimbursement reports and submit to funders.
  • Monitor due to/due from account balances to ensure accurate contract billing.
  • Prepare budget projections/forecasts for programs and subsidiaries.
  • Familiarity with and ability to process transactions through cost allocation systems.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for subsidiary entities.
  • Maintain follow-up on due dates for general ledger submission, billing, and reports that must be prepared within area of responsibility.
  • Perform account reconciliation and complete audit schedules as assigned.
  • Prepare and maintain accounts receivable aging, monitor receivables, and pursue cash collections.
  • Assist in the preparation of requests for proposal budgets.
  • Supervise staff members in Accounting Clerk, Staff Accountant, and/or Senior Accountant level positions.
