About The Position

The Accounting Manager leads a team of virtual and onsite senior accountants, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting across multiple entities. This role oversees daily accounting operations, monthly close processes, and financial analysis, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining compliance with US GAAP. The Accounting Manager serves as a collaborative partner to leadership and business partners, delivering insights that support informed decision-making and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role at a comparably sized company.
  • Proven experience managing multi-location or multi-entity accounting operations.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development abilities
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proven ability to perform and explain variance analysis across financial statements.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., D 365 preferred) and advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with previous company owners and their accounting teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage accounting processes, including general accounting, and operational accounting.
  • Manage and lead the close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Assign and manage workloads, ensuring timely completion of monthly close activities, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports, ensuring completeness and audit readiness.
  • Analyze financial data and variances, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of accountants, both virtual and onsite, ensuring high performance, accountability, and professional development.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to support business initiatives and financial transparency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of financial reporting and operational support.
  • Proactively identify and resolve accounting issues, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Develop, train, and ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scalable growth.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight into complex accounting issues and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
