About The Position

ICA Language Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of our government contracting organization. Reporting to the President, this hands-on role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, government contract compliance, indirect rate management, and financial reporting integrity. This position focuses on operational accounting execution rather than FP&A strategy. The Accounting Manager will supervise a Senior Accountant and play a key role in maintaining compliance, audit readiness, and process efficiency. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including government contracting
  • Knowledge of FAR Part 31, CAS, DFARS, and DCAA requirements
  • Experience with indirect rates, cost pools, job costing, and labor distribution
  • Strong GAAP and government contract cost accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with collaborative tools such as Teams or Google environments and best practices for communication and file storage
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools or automation to improve accounting efficiency
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment

Responsibilities

  • Accounting Operations Lead full-cycle government contract accounting, including A/P, A/R, billing, payroll, general ledger, and monthly close
  • Oversee and review work performed by the Senior Accountant
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and overall financial statement integrity
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and contract funding
  • Government Contract Compliance Maintain indirect rate structures, cost pools, and allocation bases
  • Ensure accurate job cost accumulation, labor distribution, and contract revenue recognition
  • Support forward pricing rate calculations and cost proposal data preparation
  • Maintain knowledge of FAR Part 31, CAS, DFARS, and DCAA requirements
  • Prepare documentation and schedules for DCAA and external audits
  • Reporting, Systems, and Process Improvement Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Perform variance analysis and communicate financial results clearly to leadership
  • Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Demonstrate experience using AI tools and automation to streamline accounting workflows and improve reporting accuracy
  • Maintain and optimize ERP accounting configuration and reporting
  • Leadership Supervise, mentor, and develop a Senior Accountant
  • Develop and execute staffing or workflow improvements as appropriate
