About The Position

This job will ensure specific concentrations of accounts managed are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with Mountaire policies and procedures. Responsible for managing and developing a team with expertise and skill in their assigned area of concentration. This job will handle the daily and monthly accounting activities for all Mountaire operations, each within specified areas of expertise and will be focused on ensuring the accuracy of financial information to safeguard the assets of the company. Completes the month-end close process and reporting. Maintains an experienced staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of processing (i.e., bills, new vendor set-up, etc.). Various responsibilities of each area may include but are not limited to, facilitating the invoicing process, creating and distributing sales invoices (poultry, grain, miscellaneous), cash applications for all facilities, costing and reconciling quantities of finished goods inventories. Prepares product profit and losses (P&Ls) and provides explanation of major variances. Provides direction and support for the assigned team. Guides training and development of the team to increase competency and commitment. Prepares ad-hoc reporting and analyses as needed and any special projects required by the Live Accounting Controller - Feed Mills & Hatcheries. Assists and supports audit initiatives. Monitors, enforces and tests internal control systems. Prepares the annual budget for the respective area. Directs and reviews staff activities and other special projects as assigned. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 - 7 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Understanding generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Nice To Haves

  • Poultry experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification a plus.
