About The Position

The Business department seeks a supportive and energetic Accounting Instructor to join our team! We are committed to teach diverse students and are committed to student success, equity, inclusion. Our instructors use professional workplace experiences into classroom to enrich the students’ learning journey. Instructors teach a full range of Accounting coursework with excellence and serve as an ambassador for the College at community outreach events. This position participates collaboratively in curriculum review and development, outcomes assessment, advisory council activities, projects, and other department or College activities. MCC was created in 1974 when the Nebraska State Legislature consolidated the original eight technical community college areas into six. That year, the programs, personnel, assets and liabilities of the former Omaha Nebraska Technical Community College Area merged with the Eastern Nebraska Technical Community College Area under a new name: the Metropolitan Technical Community College Area. In 1992, the Legislature voted to change the name to Metropolitan Community College Area. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline AND current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate AND 2 years of full-time related occupational experience.
  • 232-day, 12-month contract.
  • May include day, evening and/or weekend classes and may involve travel to other campuses.
  • May include teaching in our concurrent enrollment program.
  • A teaching demonstration is required as part of the interview process.
  • Position is contingent upon MCC Board of Governors approval.
  • Hiring process includes passing a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Higher Education / Community College teaching experience preferred.
  • Professional work experience in the field of study.
