About The Position

Under general direction, the Accounting Coordinator will perform a broad range of accounting functions with responsibility for maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records in a branch office or organizational department. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The Accounting Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by managing transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with special projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2 years related experience or Bachelor's degree required.
  • Must understand bookkeeping/accounting principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns transaction codes to documents.
  • Classifies, examines, and analyzes accounting records and prepares related financial reports and statements.
  • Performs special projects as assigned; completes more routine and established projects and analyses for a specific accounting or finance area.
  • Works under supervision of management or more senior staff.
  • Ensures documents being processed are included in the appropriate accounting period.
  • Collaborates with other departments, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of financial processes.
  • Posts, balances, and closes subsidiary ledgers.
  • May follow up on delinquent accounts receivable customers.
  • Analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness, and arithmetic accuracy of account documents and makes adjustments.
