About The Position

Assist in performing all functions required for the efficient operation of the accounting departments, with particular attention given to maintaining a high level of quality and to completing assignments on a timely basis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of 2 years of work-related experience in accounting.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate relationships with people with disabilities and at-risk adolescents utilizing normalization principles
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of CAU staff, members’ families, and within the community
  • Ability to express oneself, both in writing and verbally, in a comprehensive manner, using the English language
  • Good planning and organization skills
  • Proficiency in computer software programs including Microsoft Office products and Peachtree
  • Ability to be resourceful and work independently
  • Proficiency in mathematical functions
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Access to an automobile vehicle, valid driver’s license and safe driving record required

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and verifies the accuracy of time sheets for program participants including budget analyses
  • Maintains the payroll process including check production and distribution, and all necessary payroll recording and reporting on a timely and accurate basis
  • Maintains the accounts payable process including check production and distribution, and necessary recording and reporting on a timely and accurate basis
  • Records monthly income receipts and/or other information received as applicable
  • Assists with special projects and bank reconciliations
  • Prepares and maintains program/participant files as necessary
  • Makes cash deposits as required
  • Cooperates with any Agency, DDD or DYFS investigation or inspection
  • Filing PR/AP biweekly, Quarterly & Annually
  • All other duties as assigned
