About The Position

The Accounting Clerk plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial operations. This role primarily assists with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate processing of transactions, timely payments, and proper recordkeeping in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. This position is responsible for maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships, upholding internal controls, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting department.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in finance, bookkeeping, or general accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with vendors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor and customer invoices by verifying accuracy and ensuring proper approvals.
  • Prepare and execute payments via check, or other approved methods while maintaining payment schedules.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve billing or payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including invoice trackers, payment files, and digital documentation.
  • Assist with financial reports, including updating and compiling financial data for upper management review
  • Timecard reviews
  • Assist with month end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Project Set Up in System
  • Monitor accounts payable inbox, respond to vendor inquiries, and route items to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with finance, and other departments to resolve invoice or payment related issues.
  • Assist with audits by providing documentation and supporting schedules as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
