About The Position

Silgan Containers is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our Modesto, CA, plant to support accounts payable, inventory management, and month-end closing functions. The Accounting Clerk's compensation for this California-based position is competitive and based on experience, education, and skills, typically ranging from $46,500 to $58,200 per year. What You Will Do as an Accounting Clerk: Inventory & Production Management: Input and audit production data, inventory adjustments, and cycle counts in ERP; explain variances and train personnel on proper procedures. Accounting Support: Assist with monthly close tasks, prepare journal entries, generate reports, and complete reconciliations under US GAAP and SOX controls. Administrative & Transaction Processing: Handle customer invoicing, accounts payable, special projects, and routine clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and document management. Cross-Department Collaboration: Interact with various departments to gather accounting data, resolve issues, and ensure accuracy across processes. What You Bring: Associate’s degree in accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferred in Manufacturing environment Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills. Proficiency in using ERP software such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards is an advantage. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Requirements

• Associate’s degree in accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferred in Manufacturing environment
• Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods as needed
