About The Position

Sage Hospitality Group is in search of experienced Accouting Clerk to provide operational oversight for the The Asbury and The Asbury Ocean Club. Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of hospitality and/or accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic accounting systems (hotel or AP systems a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures.
  • Ability to operate personal computer and calculator.
  • Telephone etiquette skills needed.
  • Ability to view CRT screen.
  • Ability to communicate with vendors calling in on phone.
  • Ability to read bills, accounts, etc.
  • Lifting/carrying files and papers up to 5 lbs.
  • Stationary position.
  • Work inside 100% of 8 hours daily.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hospitality or accounting experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Verify, obtain approvals and pay all invoices from vendors and associates in a timely, accurate manner in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Perform general cashier duties, including cash handling, deposits, and daily reconciliations
  • Perform bank counts, employee bank setup, bank contracts and bank policy acknowledgements.
  • Support accounts payable with invoice entry, coding, filing, and tracking
  • Process approved invoices for payment, ensuring proper approvals, backup, accuracy, and discounts
  • Verify purchasing compliance by matching purchase orders to invoices (price, quantity, and valid PO numbers)
  • Route invoices with supporting POs to Department Heads and Executive Committee for approval and ensure timely return
  • Handle vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, and maintain organized files for open, paid, and voided invoices
  • Create and maintain new vendor setup requests
  • Manage corporate credit card activity, including receipt collection, documentation, and expense allocation
  • Assist with month-end close, primarily related to AP accruals and commentary
  • Support ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis as needed
