About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting professional to join our dealership’s administrative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced automotive dealership environment. This role is responsible for daily cash receipt processing, maintaining accounting schedules, handling accounts payable and receivable, and performing accurate reconciliations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of accounting experience; dealership or automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, conditional formatting, data sorting/filtering).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process and record daily cash, check, and electronic payments accurately.
  • Reconcile cash receipts with dealership management system records.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Review, update, and maintain assigned accounting schedules.
  • Ensure schedules are accurate, current, and properly supported.
  • Assist with clearing aged or outstanding items.
  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals and coding.
  • Prepare payments and maintain vendor files.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate and post customer invoices.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Process customer payments and credits.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Investigate and correct variances or errors.
  • Utilize Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation support.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to track financial information.
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency in all data-related tasks.
