About The Position

The Accounting Associate will support the accounting operations for Next LvL Energy, focusing on accurate financial reporting, cost tracking, and compliance related to well retirement activities. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who thrive in a dynamic environment and want to contribute to energy transition initiatives. Special focus to be placed on:

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience (energy sector preferred).
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
• Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for subsidiary transactions.
• Maintain accurate records of well retirement costs and related accruals.
• Assist with monthly close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions for Next LvL Energy.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure proper cost allocation and reporting.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Provide documentation for audits and regulatory filings.
