About The Position

HOURS 12 months, 37.5 hours, 260 days Bargaining Unit: This position is part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit\ FLSA: Nonexempt QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of general office experience which includes bookkeeping, payroll, or other clerical tasks. Proficient with data entry equipment and personal computers to include spreadsheet applications and word processing. Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and equipment. General understanding of accounting principles and related data processing systems. Ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures. Ability to post accounts and to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. Ability to work under pressure associated with constant deadlines. Ability to work independently in the designated area of responsibility.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Edit transactions in the KRONOS time and attendance system to ensure accurate payment of all substitutes and extra-pay for Food Service workers.
  • Prepare spreadsheet with entries needed to process miscellaneous payroll additions/deductions for each semi-monthly payroll on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Create substitute new hires in KRONOS, assign sick leave, and track hours to ensure employee paid only for hours within their assigned jobs.
  • Complete the termination process for all substitute employees in KRONOS and Business Plus.
  • Assist the Payroll Specialist with processing in the KRONOS system all transactions involving substitutes, tuition reimbursement,
  • Perform data entry into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) payroll software system for various payroll withholdings including association dues, United Way, credit union, etc.
  • Assist the Payroll Specialist and the Accounting Associate III-Payroll as needed.
  • Operate systems for paycheck and direct deposit remittance printing and folding.
  • Assist employees with payroll questions as requested.
  • Complete documents of requests from external sources for employment verification.
  • Perform related work as required or as directed by the Payroll Manager.
