About The Position

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Accounting & Finance team by assisting with filing, scanning, document indexing, handling incoming mail, responding to simple vendor requests, assisting with projects, and other duties as assigned. This role will require multi-tasking and highly detail-oriented skillsets and is a key position for an Accounting graduate looking for their first corporate position. This is an onsite position in Lacey, WA. Pay: $22-26/hour DOE; a full benefit package and Harbor perks! Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills and solid knowledge of basic administrative accounting functions
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Skilled in time management and prioritizing tasks and duties, ability to stay organized, and work independently
  • Strong 10-key and keyboarding skills required
  • Ability to take directions and communicate professionally in writing and verbally
  • Ability to write a simple business correspondence using correct grammar and spelling
  • Skilled using a PC and familiar with Microsoft Office, strong 10-key and keyboarding skills required
  • Skilled in basic math – ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; determine percent of a total
  • Accounting degree required
  • 1-2+ years of Accounting studies or equivalent experience with high preference for a professional path in Accounting & Finance
  • 1-2 years in a high-volume sales or service environment with substantial document interactions is preferred
  • All final candidates will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment background, and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or any exposure to Microsoft Dynamics NAV software helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Documents scanning and filing in support of Accounting department
  • Handling departmental mail
  • Assist with documents retrieval
  • Processing monthly vendor/customer statements requests
  • Send daily remittance detail to vendors
  • Vendor/Customer assistance with heavy phone interaction and support
  • Various projects and other duties as assigned by the manager
