About The Position

The Accounting Assistant III maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards, current laws, and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise entry-level Accounting Assistants.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR bachelor's degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting, research and prepare comprehensive reports, work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions, and demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability.
• Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently, yet think and plan strategically as part of a team.
• Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills are critical, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks are essential.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Bookkeeping and/or accounting experience of reconciling budgets (state and/or grant funds), as well as experience using specific UA systems (Banner, Concur, Everest, Astra, CIM, CLSS, Slate, etc.) and knowledge of the University's financial accounting, purchasing, and travel policies and procedures.
