Accountant
About The Position
This Accountant role supports the evolution of the accounting function from a transactional model to a principle-based, high-integrity operation by owning balance sheet accounts, reconciliations, and close activities end to end. The role is responsible for preparing and reviewing journal entries, maintaining GAAP-compliant records, analyzing variances and accruals, and ensuring audit-ready documentation while proactively identifying and resolving reconciliation risks. The accountant will collaborate cross-functionally to improve data flow, clarify ownership, and strengthen controls, while also identifying process improvements that enhance scalability in a cost-conscious environment. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a growing, evolving organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong foundation in: General ledger accounting, Balance sheet reconciliations, AR/AP accounting, Accruals and estimates
- Experience supporting or cleaning up reconciliation-intensive environments
- Comfort working in organizations with evolving structure, priorities, and constraints
Nice To Haves
- Experience in high-volume transaction environments (e.g., fuel, distribution, manufacturing, or similar)
- Exposure to accounting system implementations or multi-entity environments
- Public accounting or audit background a plus
- CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
