About The Position

Optiver is looking for a versatile, experienced Accountant to join our Finance team in the Chicago office. The right individual is a self-starter and able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate should be able to use their accounting background and analytical skillset to support ongoing accounting needs.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in corporate accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Experience with complex revenue and/or expense allocations
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Strong track record of identifying and implementing process improvement
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated, detailed oriented, able to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification preferred
  • NetSuite experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain support for month-end journal entries and close processes (IFRS & U.S. GAAP)
  • Prepare reconciliations and tie-outs for balance sheet accounts and income statement accounts
  • Prepare complex revenue and expense allocations between various entities and profit centers
  • Serve an instrumental role in ongoing partnership with FP&A, Procurement and Accounts Payable to ensure reporting objectives are met through sound invoice review
  • Support cash activities, including the preparation of daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Maintain support for fixed assets, leases, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Work together with other members of Finance and Middle Office to reconcile and report daily revenue and trading information
  • Prepare technology and other operating expense accruals
  • Assist in ongoing development, documentation, and testing of internal controls
  • Drive continuous improvement within our finance team and P2P processes including critical thinking on utilizing automation and AI tooling
  • Prepare and maintain audit support throughout the year – liaise with external auditors as needed
  • Support finance team and other departments with ad-hoc projects as they arise
