About The Position

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Reporting to an Accounting Manager in the Share Services Finance department, this position will assist in the oversight of company operating capital budgets, forecasting, capital planning, Fixed Asset data management and other ad hoc financial analyses as assigned. This position plays an integral role in supporting the control of the capital investments for the company between different groups. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in areas such as financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact across all levels of management
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly understand and drive multiple initiatives to create work efficiencies
  • Quality leadership and confidence to create a roadmap and guidance for each Business Unit
  • Good working understanding of and experience with Microsoft Excel and JD Edwards (or equivalent ERP software)

Responsibilities

  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions
  • Monitor CIP expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations
  • Track the compilation of project costs & project closures, into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
  • Complete various month end activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of Fixed Assets
