Accountant (1 - 3 years experience)
About The Position
To help us in our mission to professionalize and innovate telecom construction, ByVerTek is now seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant (internal title is Accounting Associate) to join our growing telecom construction firm. As the Accounting Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports, job costing, variance, cost analysis and GL maintenance. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related area is required
- 1-3 of professional accounting experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong understanding of bank processes and financial data analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be punctual and responsible with a good professional attitude
- Proficiency with QuickBooks (or similar accounting software) is ideal
- Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office 365
- Solid Excel skills with emphasis on v-lookup and pivot table functions
Nice To Haves
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Florida CPA is a plus
Responsibilities
- Preparation of month-end financial statements with budget versus actual variance analysis
- Presentation of financial reports to senior management providing accuracy, insights and recommendations for improving financial performance
- Maintain and update various general ledger accounts with supporting schedules for month-end closing process and year-end audit
- Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Monitor and evaluate internal control procedures making recommendations for improvement
- Strong understanding of depreciation and amortization of fixed assets and various loan commitments
- Knowledge of job cost accounting, job contracts and related accounting entries to record retainage
- Strong understanding of processing and analyzing company credit card transactions while interacting with employees as it relates to reimbursement of expenses
- Develop and maintain proper internal control processes for senior management approval on a timely basis
