About The Position

Accountant 1 - $62,300 - $74,800 Accountant 2 - $75,300 - $90,400 Accountant 3 - $85,500 - $102,600 Role Prepares monthly general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and various other accounting reports to aid in the completion of financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner. May research and explain financial entries to management and internal/external auditors. Has a working knowledge of all major accounting and accounting operation functions and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required OR A combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions may be substituted.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and various other accounting reports to aid in the completion of financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
  • May research and explain financial entries to management and internal/external auditors.
  • Maintains efficient, accurate, and timely accounting records in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States, generally accepted auditing standards, NCUA Rules and Regulations, and other applicable authorities
  • Responsible for regulatory reporting
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Provides input on an appropriate general ledger chart of account structure, including structure support of branch accounting
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including a timely financial closing process
  • Report on material changes in revenues and expenses on a monthly basis
  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures
  • Contribute to the maintenance of fixed asset accounting records, participating in physical inventory counts
  • Assists in preparing routine local, state, and government tax returns required
  • Assist operations staff in resolving reconciliation issues
