About The Position

We are partnering with a well-established labor organization that represents skilled trades professionals across North America to hire a hands-on Accountant. This is a 100% onsite role (no exceptions) in a supportive, family-oriented work environment. The position involves core accounting work with exposure to payroll, fund management, investments, and convention support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent hands-on accounting experience)
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience with solid knowledge of standard accounting practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Team-oriented, eager to learn, and adaptable

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and ADP a plus (not required)

Responsibilities

  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate with banks to address and resolve issues.
  • Prepare monthly investment analysis and reconciliations.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset schedules.
  • Provide bookkeeping support for multiple funds with accurate record-keeping.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly invoices related to shared services agreements.
  • Record journal entries and analyze property management reports.
  • Provide payroll support, including:
  • Processing bi-weekly payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees and annual filings
  • Reconciling bi-weekly hours for U.S. employees
  • Supporting burial benefit processing
  • Prepare financial documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Support conventions and events, including processing payments, reimbursements, and issuing tax forms (1099s/T-4As).
  • Prepare quarterly account revaluations for accurate financial statements.
  • Collaborate on other accounting projects as needed.
