Prepare entry level grant financials according to grant contract. Monitor and or prepare reports or billings for residual accounts, law enforcement agreements, and other agreements entered into by the County, by ensuring compliance with agency requirements in order to continue maximizing funding for the county. Setup grant or other agreements in financial system along with budget, monitor revenue reimbursements, and close out agreement when completed. Works with outside agencies and departments on audits when necessary. Analyze financial documents such as general ledger, balance sheet, budget, etc. for the County Departments. Troubleshoot accounting problems and have corrections made in subsystems or create journal entries to correct the issue if needed. Other duties as assigned which can include, working with Internal Audit staff and fee officer departments to maintain transactional data in financial system. Assist with preparing various annual financial report audits, working with outside auditors. Prepare accounts receivable upload into accounting system for generation of payment and proper recording in the general ledger. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Five years of job related experience, three years accounting/finance experience preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting and other finance-related areas
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and organizational skills
  • The ability to deal with people effectively and professionally
  • Self-motivated to follow through independently on assigned projects
