About The Position

We are seeking a talented individual to join the Global Revenue Recognition team at Marsh. This role will be based in Urbandale and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. As an Accountant on the Revenue Recognition team, your leadership will be instrumental for the revenue recognition team to achieve and surpass departmental goals. This individual will oversee several aspects of the teams’ daily operations, including control execution, month-end close, cross-functional projects, and audit.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong analytical and time management skills

• Experience working in a global accounting team
• Prior experience with revenue recognition policy and controls
• Ability to explain accounting concepts clearly to business leaders

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert as it pertains to company revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Serve as the lead accountant on transformative projects that leverage technology to automate processes and strengthen controls.
• Support month end close by reviewing and approving complex revenue transactions.
• Analyze control landscape for automation opportunities, including the creation of proposals and project plans
