About The Position

ACCOUNTANT-PAYROLL FOR THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT Compensation: Wage range: $25.43 hourly ($52,885 annually) - $31.27 hourly ($65,043 Annually) FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. The starting wage for this position will be $25.43 per hour . Closing Date/Time: Open until filled POSITION FUNCTION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Senior Accountant, the Accountant- Payroll is responsible for the bi-monthly payroll process. Will complete Journal Entries for Fund accounting. Reconciliation of payroll, benefits, annual audits and compliance reporting. Work includes accounting skills in preparation and posting of various journals, ledgers, and accounts; analysis and presentation of financial data and statements; analyzing contract requirements and processing invoices for payment; analyzing budget requirements; allocation of funds to various accounts or functions; and other complex accounting and HUD required activities. Current knowledge of, experience, and proficiency with Yardi and Isolved accounting software. Accountant-Payroll is expected to understand and apply an advanced knowledge of current federal, state, and local payroll laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and Two (2) years of full-cycle payroll processing experience.
  • Working knowledge and experience in a federally funded program or fund accounting with grant experience.
  • Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures and technical manuals.
  • This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, contractors, supervisors, co-workers, residents, and city/county agencies.
  • Successful candidates are required to pass a nationwide background check and a drug screen before on-boarding.
