The Accountant / Medical Claims Support is responsible for preparing, examining, and analyzing financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. This role involves classifying, recording, and reporting financial operations, reconciling statements with records, and identifying, researching, and resolving accounting discrepancies. This position also analyzes, allocates, and monitors expenditures and revenues, assists with the development and improvement of accounting procedures, maintains accounting ledgers, journals, and registers, and has the ability to gather, verify, and analyze medical claims to resolve complex problems. On occasion, this role assists the Medicaid Administrative Officer in financial and claims-related matters. The Accountant / Medical Claims Support may provide guidance or direction to technical and support staff as needed, supporting a collaborative and efficient accounting function. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a keen attention to detail, contributing to accurate financial reporting and sound decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities
