Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and at least one year of relevant work experience; associates degree in accounting and at least 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with two or more years of relevant work experience
  • Accounting experience in a corporate environment
  • Prior Alaska Native Corporation work experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with other departments and subsidiary companies to ensure business activity is posted to the general ledger correctly and in a timely manner
  • Capital asset accounting
  • Reconcile and prepare entries for prepaid expenses
  • Prepare credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare, post, and review journal entries
  • General ledger and bank account reconciliations
  • Reconcile intercompany
  • Maintain and invoice accounts receivable
  • Process shareholder transactions
  • Support external audits
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy
  • Document and explain accounting transactions
  • Meet deadlines, organize work materials, and manage time effectively
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Infrequent overnight travel may be required
