About The Position

This position manages, coordinates, and directs programming and budget management for the Headquarters and Statewide Planning Capital Improvement Program. The Project Control Chief is pivotal in the division´s management team providing ongoing professional, budgetary and administrative support and consultative services to Division Directors, Group Chiefs, and Project Managers for planning, highway, aviation, and maintenance and facilities projects. The position ensures adherence to federal and program goals and guidelines, and provides for the timely processing of funding needs. Requirements

Principles of Accounting: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and practices (for example, double entry accounting, accrual accounting), including the full accounting cycle and the preparation of work sheets, financial statements, ledgers, and journals.

Equivalent to those typically gained by: Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional level experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management.

Responsibilities

Management of Regional Capital Project Programming
Leadership to staff within the Administrative Services Division
Capital Budget Management
Project Development Authorizations
Regional representative on various task forces and additional leadership groups for the Department and within the region.
Review and approval of Project and Project Budgets and other operational tasks within IRIS.
