About The Position

The Accountant 3 reports to the Manager, Revenue & Financial Compliance. This role requires in-depth knowledge of client billings, accounts receivable, revenue, and general accounting. Regular collaboration with other departments and customers is crucial to success in this position. The Accountant 3 also has accountability for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting internal and external audit requests.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time accounting experience is required.
  • Must possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams, as well as independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
  • General knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
  • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree and/or Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred.
  • Proficiency identifying and driving process improvement initiatives (preferred)
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and EPM (preferred)
  • Ability to perform tasks independently, but also able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Prepares all monthly revenue recognition and cost share related journal entries by working closely with the Manager, Revenue & Financial Compliance to ensure appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606 and cost share recognition.
  • Prepares journal entries to support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate coding under GAAP and NuScale’s Chart of Accounts structure.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly reconciliations for GL accounts and subsystems.
  • Gathers, organizes, and processes documentation for projects being performed across the company, maintaining a large data set. This will require regular collaboration with internal groups and clients.
  • Successfully performs key Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls in areas such as Revenue and Financial Close Management.
  • Dedication to continuously improving accounting, reporting, and SOX processes, with ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
  • Supports financial statement audits, incurred cost audits, and internal audits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • The target pay range for this position is $$80,521 - $97,180 annually. The full pay range is $72,191 - $112,914 annually.
