About The Position

The incumbent is responsible for opening new deposit accounts and performing necessary updates to customer information. In doing so, the incumbent will help develop and maintain strong relationships. While interacting with current and prospective customers, Account Specialists must be able to explain services and products in detail and answer corresponding questions.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service at all times.
Utilize critical thinking and active listening to resolve customer problems or complaints.
Greet customers as they enter the bank and direct to the appropriate employee while promoting the bank's accounts and products.
Answer telephone in a courteous manner.
Open, close, and troubleshoot checking, savings, and time accounts.
Create and troubleshoot debit cards and online banking profiles.
Actively seek ways to strengthen customer relationships by cross selling bank products and services.
Complete tasks such as updating a customer's address, disbursing funds to beneficiaries, placing stop payments on check, or updating the customer's statement preferences.
Examine checks presented and determine proper funds availability based on regulatory requirements; complete Hold Notices as needed.
Examine checks for endorsements and to verify other information such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments and the legitimacy of the documents.
Promote and maintain positive relations with all employees, current customers, and potential customers.
Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
Follow all bank policies and procedures, with regulatory knowledge of deposit-related compliance topics.
Assist with office functions as needed.
Perform opening and closing procedures as assigned.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
